Deburrer (DB)
PREVIOUSNEXT
The in-line rotary hammer type deburring machine is designed for removing burrs from continuous casting products (slab, bloom, billet) caused by torch cutting. The deburring process is executed during transportation on roller table without stopping the product.
After the casting process the continuous strand is cut into shorter pieces. The cutting operation is done with gas torch cutting. A waste by-product of this cutting process is known as “burrs or beards” which can be found on the underside of the slab, bloom or billet at the torch cut positions. These burrs or beards can cause considerable problems in downstream operations. To eliminate these problems rotary deburring equipment can be installed in-between two of the roller-table rolls and will carry out in line deburring at roller table speed. - The in-line rotary hammer type deburring machine is designed for removing burrs from continuous casting products (slab, bloom, billet) caused by torch cutting. The deburring process is executed during transportation on roller table without stopping the product. The complete equipment is manufactured using standardised modules, which result in high reliability and low maintenance of equipment and specially selected electrical and mechanical parts that are designed, well tested and proven to function in heavy industries.
Deburrer Slabs:
The in-line removal of burrs is carried out by a series of symmetrical (double edged) hammers made of forged alloy steel. These hammers hang loosely on six axles positioned around the deburrer roll. When the roll rotates the centrifugal force causes the hammers to extend to their deburring diameter. Due to the roll speed and the mass of the hammers they hit the burrs several times at high speed before the burr is removed from the product and guided via chutes into a burr removal system. The Deburring system consists of a roll with axles and hammers, bearing blocks, hydraulic vertical slide, sensors and electric rotor-drive. The machine is controlled by a PLC type Siemens S7 with standard interfaces to steel plant equipment and fault diagnostic system.
Deburrer Blooms/Billets:
The in-line removal of burrs is carried out by a series of symmetrical (double edged) hammers made of forged alloy steel. These hammers hang loosely on four axles positioned at 90 degree intervals around the deburrer roll. When the roll rotates the centrifugal force causes the hammers to extend to their deburring diameter. Due to the roll speed and the mass of the hammers they hit the burrs several times at high speed before the burr is removed from the product and guided via chutes into a burr removal system. The Deburring system consists of a roll with axles and hammers, bearing blocks, pneumatic driven lifting device with parallelogram, sensors and electric rotor-drive. The machine is controlled by a PLC type Siemens S7 with standard interfaces to steel plant equipment and fault diagnostic system.
Features
- In line deburring during transportation with roller table speed – no stop of product necessary
- Automatic bloom/billet detection with newly designed mechanical touching rolls, which enables an excellent deburring rate even on bent billets
- Extremely robust for harsh environments of continuous casting machines
- Electro-pneumatic operation
- Common drive assembly
Your advantages:
- Low running and maintenance costs: The cost of deburring is insignificant, but the saving potential is very high. No consumables, except wear of the hammer (insignificant)
- Significant quality improvement of rolled products (no roll-in of burrs)
- Minimisation of damages/wear to roller table rolls and reheating furnaces and rolling mill equipment
